Antimicrobial Stewardship Education
Antimicrobial stewardship is the effort to use antimicrobials judiciously by continuously improving how antimicrobials are prescribed and used. Improving these areas is critical to continue to be able to effectively treat infections, protect patients from adverse events associated with unneeded antimicrobials (including antibiotics), and to combat the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance. On demand education is one of the many tools in the antimicrobial stewardship toolbelt to help protect the effectiveness of the most important tool we have to fight life-threatening bacterial infections – antibiotics.
