Kentucky's Resource for Multidrug-Resistant Organisms

Resources for Infection Prevention and Control

The Kentucky Infection Prevention Training Center (KyIP) provides education and training all across the Commonwealth of Kentucky to health care professionals, researchers, and individuals interested in areas of infection prevention and control. KyIP Training represents a unique and broad array of experts in the fields of infection control, infectious diseases, healthcare epidemiology, public health, microbiology, and long-term-care. Building upon the capacities and capabilities of collaborative partners, KyIP Training is well positioned to positively impact the health of patients and healthcare personnel across the care continuum.

Resources for Antimicrobial Stewardship

Funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH), the Kentucky Antimicrobial Stewardship Innovation Consortium (KASIC) was established in summer 2022 as a free program to address the use of antimicrobials across the Commonwealth of Kentucky in order to optimize clinical outcomes while minimizing adverse consequences of antimicrobial use. KASIC provides access to antimicrobial stewardship expertise to network members in the acute care or long-term-care setting. A wide range of experts include infectious diseases trained physician and pharmacists, biostatisticians, bioinformatics, and microbiology.
